SysAdmins Environmental Policy 2007
 

SysAdmins promote environmental awareness throughout the supply chain using the following initiatives:

  • Recycling of company and customer waste material under the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006.
  • Reviewing supplier’s environmental policies.
  • Developing and promoting environmental awareness within the workplace.
SysAdmins subscribes to the WEEE directive and works with RDC, a company who offer end-of-life IT asset management services. RDC take obsolete and non-working items then recover the materials and recycle them with no residual to landfill and in compliance with all UK and EU legislation.

RDC only use appropriately licensed computer recycling specialists to ensure environmental duty of care obligations are met. Recycling sites and processes are audited to ensure that environmental practices are maintained and legal compliance is assured as part of RDC’s ISO 14001 environmental management certification. RDC’s financial end of year reporting for clients shows exactly what proportion of equipment has been recycled and demonstrates that zero percent went to landfill.

SysAdmins Environmental Policy Statement

SysAdmins will control and manage its activities to ensure risks to the health, safety and welfare of its employees, customers and the general public are identified and action taken to minimise or eliminate their effects. Adverse effects of operational activities on the environment will be minimised as far as practicable. Policy objectives:

  • To comply with all legal obligations under the current Health and Safety Regulations and the Environmental Protection Act, together with all other applicable statutory provisions and relevant codes of practice.
  • To promote health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the organisation.
  • To maintain a safe and healthy working environment for its employees, with adequate facilities appropriate to the nature of the business activities.
  • To minimise the social impact of the company activities and avoid damage to the environment through regular reviews of the business from environmental and management systems audits.
  • To undertake environmental impact studies as part of any company relocation or enlargement of existing facilities.
